Run for the health of it…

I have been working out and running hard lately - and my body is feeling it…  today I took it easy and just went for a short relaxed run. I was contemplating taking a break overall but I have been at it too long and know not to make any decisions when my body is tired.  I need to decide when my body is feeling good … and we all know what the decision will be then!

For now, I just watched my girls head out together to run, I love that they run together, I love that they care about their health and I love them… Life is good.

200 …

October 18, 2012 I unintentionally began running everyday… after 5 or 6 days in a row I thought I should go for 30 … then 60 … 75 … 99 (that is when I began blogging). Somehow 100 turned into 200 and that happens to be today!  My youngest daughter joined me at day 3 so she is celebrating 197 and she’s frustrated she can not get ahead of me - hahaha!  My oldest daughter is on day 5 (http://sarahcopeland.tumblr.com/)

…. my husband and son are on working on their golf game …

I have been a runner since 1997 and really don’t think I have ever felt better running than I do now.  I am not quite as speedy but I am working on it! I refuse to let age slow me down, it is a tough battle.

Today I celebrated with Pilates, coffee in the sunshine with two friends, a good cleaning of the dog pen after a rainy week (seriously gross), and a beautiful 10 km. Tonight my hubby is taking me out for dinner to a fancy new restaurant in the country … perfect!

I love that I don’t have to decide whether or not run each day … dare I say my next goal is to reach 365 days…

Bring on spring time!

If you want to become the best runner you can be, start now. Don’t spend the rest of your life wondering if you can do it. — Priscilla Welch (via fortyishathlete)

I’m the runner who…

runtherevolution:

I’m not the runner who leaves the race with medals around my neck

I’m the runner who knows what it feels like to come in last

I’m not the runner equipped with natural talent

So I’m the runner who knows the importance of constant training

I’m not the runner who leads the workouts

But I’m the runner who never stops trying to catch-up

I’m not the runner who wins the big race

But I’m the runner who never stops dreaming I will
