Came across a herd of elk today running about 200 feet in front of me on my run. Once they saw me they abruptly turned and headed the other way. A passing truck stopped to wait with me as she watched this happen. The elk were then circling their young because a coyote was in the field. Yikes… Country running can almost cause me to wet my pants!!
The Tarahumara culture believed that “racing doesn’t divide villages; it unites them” …they “saw racing as a festival of friendship.”
“A festival of friendship” - I love this!
