Simplicity of Running ...
Running does not cost money (other than a pair of runners although even that has been debated);  you can run with a partner, in a group, or alone; you can go almost anywhere at almost any time; you can run any distance; you can run against your watch or keep a pace that is easy … If you choose to measure your distance and clock your time - it is what it is … no interpretation...

"Every day is the day"
I love this quote! I can’t wait for the perfect day or the perfect time to run, or it just won’t happen.  For me it is all about discipline … I have decided to run so I will. Period.   Sounds a little crazy but if I can fit all sorts of events into my day - eating, sleeping, working, watching TV, reading … why not run?  Even if 15 minutes is all I have, I will run…...

For the Love of Running
My youngest daughter KT turned 16 today! And in celebration, I went for a run with KT and Sarah, my oldest daughter. I just can’t imagine anything better! Talking, laughing, running, sharing life … perfect! When I think about my love of running, I know it encompasses so much more than the time I spend actually running.  It is planning for my run, deciding on a distance and a route,...

an Everyday Runner ...
and I say this not just because I run every day but because I am a middle of packer … not fast not slow … not crazy but dedicated … willing to try various race distances but don’t excel at any. I sometimes dream of being a great runner, maybe win my age group in a 5 or 10 k race. Perhaps if I race until I am 100 years old I will win in my age group. But until then, I am...

Running Solo... January 27, 2012
I have been running pretty regularly with KT and my pup Tino. KT’s 100th day was today (yeah!) and she wanted to run later in the day. So it was just going to be Tino and me.  And one thing about Tino is that he always up for a run - in any weather, at any time, anywhere.  I am convinced that no other dog wants get outside more than he does. Tino is so energetic that a run is often not...

Running 101 - January 26, 2012
As much as I am a numbers girl, I am also a rewards girl. After 30 days of running I treated myself to a new piece of running gear from my fav store.  In my effort to reach 100 days I created a list that gradually evolved during my runs … if I could run 100 days then I would write a blog,  and run more,  and if I quit my job I could not only run more but I could travel more with my husband...

100th day - January 25, 2012
I am a numbers girl and here are some of them:   married for almost 25 years (to the same great guy) have 3 children 2 dogs I’ve been a ‘runner’ for close to 15 years (started on June 4, 1997)  I endured 6 marathons and About 15 half marathons, and lots of 5 and 10 k’s I have logged every km I have ever run … it has kept me accountable.  I don’t ever have...

Day 99 & counting .... January 24, 2012
There always has to be a starting point even if that point doesn’t start when it began. This is my start at blogging bits of my life midstream and although I question whether I have something to say “in print” (or out of print for that matter)  … I have decided to blog my “Quest for Endurance” 99 days ago I decided that I would run for 30 days in a row… I...
